Field Camp

Day 1 (monday)
4km route march to our camp site instead of 8 due to the short of time. Still feeling ok upon reaching. Seeing the camp site, really reminded me of the days in atc. It would be quite enjoyable and fun, i thought. First thing first, need to build basha. It was a funny sight to see how my buddy ordered me around just because he had been through the basha building session which i had missed. Obviously, he do not know who i was. In the end had no choice but to act blur once again to make him happy. For the first time i ate army combat ration. Mutton Curry pasta was the first one i ate and it was my favorite. Ended up squeezing every single bit from the green rectangular packet. Since then, it seemed to me that i got addicted to those green combat rations that i ate them before its allocated timing.
The valantine day was indeed romantic, my buddy and i were 'selected' to do the sentury. So while doing it, we were eating biscuits under the crescent moon in the starry night....

Day 2 (tue)
we did the 8 k route march finally. It was so sickening as the first 4 k was practically walking round and round in circles to clock for distance. The next 4 k was quite fun when we explore new terrain. I always believed that so long as u can make another step, u will be stronger then u were before ( that is y i put ben as my title). Apparantly, i can really see those people who were strong and those who were not. Brian had 6-8 big blisters which really shocked the instructors but he did not complain. Aber for 1308, he went round asking for plasters just cos of his leg (as though he was he only one with blister and leg pain). His statement for having to fall out was from blister to ankel pain.
It was the night that i will never forgot for Zhiyang who was doing the sentury fell and land onto my basha and landed onto me while i was in deep sleep. If both my arms were not pressed by him, i would have pinched that guy so hard that he would scream. The worst thing was his parter during his sentury was 1308, and he told zhiyang to quickly run away after doing such horrible thing.

Day 3, 4 (wed and thursday)
Basically we learnt many skills during this day. too technical to explain in detail and i think its quite classified also. hmm... At night, finally heard that "wildboar" julian had been talking abt, that wildboar was actually julian's "bestfriend" , Haosiang, who snored so loud that it became so scary. Giggled for a while and went back to sleep again.

Day 5 (fri)
Things became interesting went we finally went to our last campsite for the camp. For once, we just slept in the open. Things get mysterious when section 2 pointed out the next day that alot of them their specs were removed from them while they were asleep. This phenomenon happened to me on that night too. Many would have said that we could have dropped it while sleeping, but the thing was that i was wearing my spectacle band, so it would be almost impossible for my specs to drop off unless done manually. No one actually saw the one who helped us removed the specs though....

Day6 and7
As i always say, when u are tired, your true personally will start to show. Throughout the field camp, i've really seen the worstest sight of my platoonmate. Some of them looked nice and helpful but turned out to be easily irritated and mean. While some we thought are slackers. really did those little things that can really make our day. Walking just a few more steps to help others fill their waterbottles, giving others a slight push while they were trying to stand up, not to complain to demoralise others or even just a whisper of "jia you" or "u can do it" in ur ear. Such little things are just like the wind that ease ur tiredness and dries up your tears and sweat, brightening up your day.

NPCC Day 2005~!

It has been 1 yr and 2 days since i've stepped out of my house.... yah.... from chinese new year eve till now. Went down to police academy just to have a look on how smoothly the npcc day parade is going, but ended up being a trainer due to a lack of man power. Being a trainer (again) really brings back pleasant memories of Npcc day 2004 and npcc days. I was so happy to see some of my sec 3s and 2 of my Sec 4s, was even more delighted when they said they missed me and was so concerned with the husky voice of mine. My juniors are all such wonderful people...served my drinks and stuff... haha...
Then i was walking around and saw Mr chia. Chat awhile on my army life. I think he was very jealous and envy us on how welfared the people in army are compare to his. Mr Chia still looked the same as ever, really makes me wonder who Ms Fong looks like now.
After that, the real training starts when Fedous (dunno how to spell) came. Morphed into NP mode and went to take contingent 6. It was so amazing how my voice recovered alittle after constant scolding and nagging. Contingent 6 was one of those better contingent as it needs only 2 trainers and we received no scolding or negative comments from Fedous. Contingent 1 was the unlucky one, i meant those 4 trainers taking them. They never failed to make mistakes until their trainers need to scold and scold.... I pity them cos i was in charge of contingent 1 last yr.

After that, went for dinner at burger king at novena. Got to know this girl named Ruoda aka green mucus girl (from D03). Thanks to her with her story by others on how she sneezed at her food during CI night (17 dec 2004) leaving behind mucus on her food, i was practically laughing in tears throughout dinner. Felt quite sad for her as she was being teased for being unhygenic and do not know what is a soap. We talked about Npcc day 2004 inparticular the Food poisoning incident during the full dress rehersal that 72 cadets were sent to hospital and more then 100 cadets were poisoned. Always wonder how the police trainees cleared the drains full with vomit. That was really an exciting experience.

Heh heh... really hope to be able to go down to pa again then can tekan them for fun~ haha

Interesting People met in Bmtc

haha~ i was thinking to write some interesting happenings that happened to me during the last 5 weeks. But it will be like digging old memories and it will be very lei cei for me also. So i was thinking to write about the people and the interesting things they did during the course.

Let me start with the first person in our platoon 1 section 1 bed 1. Huanyan. He is also known as triple 1 when people want to gossip about him. Although Huanyan is the oldest in our platoon (23 yrs old), there are many people who feels that he is very blur and always makes mistakes. I personally think that Huanyan is a nice person (though he borrowed and lost my pen *grrrr) and its because he is always the first person to try things out, that is why he can be lost at times.

Then is Section1 bed 5, Fu Wei. I wrote him in simply because he is involved in the first and only case of having a rifle falling from his cabinet and hit his head which caused severe bleeding. Stitches was made ( i think). Actually such cases is quite common but never so serious before. I myself almost got hit by my falling rifle, lucky my fieldpack obstruct its movements.

Next is Section 1 bed 12 ( i think), Chong Hui. Chong Hui basically is ok just that he got my attention when he connected 5 fine cleaners to clean the barrel of his rifle instead of the 5 piece rod. It was such a funny sight that i almost burst into laughter. Honestly, looking back, he is quite creative to be able to think of that as i'll just borrow the 5 piece rod from others if mine is spoilt. But then, what he did is incomparable to 1 guy from platoon 3 who lost his FAD . That guy was so fast thinking to find a pack of plasters and used green tape to pack the plasters into an improvised FAD. I think our oc knew about that also and he really thinking "why is such person in my company".

Follow up, is Section 2 bed 2, Edwin. Edwin was also from Njc but that was not why i included him here. It has been rumoured that Edwin saw "things" but he kept to himself as he does not want to stir up any uneasiness. It was said that in the morning when he went to the toilet, Edwin saw a person in the reflection of the mirror in one of the cubicles but when he turned and walked past the cubicle, there was no one there. Then, he also mentioned (and so i heard) that he saw something beside someone's bed at night. Edwin is not wearing spects so most prob it wouldn't be wrong. Certainly, the encounters are what i heard from people. We will only know the truth during our POP when we passed out that he will be willing to share what really happened.

Then is Section 3 bed 8. I really don't know his name and don't intend to know. Our section refered him as 1308 which is his 4d number. 1308 is not really interesting but irritating i should say. I bet many people do feel this way. But since he is the only irritating guy we have, i will just put him here. I personally feel that 1308 is a person with good intentions just that he expressed his good intentions at the wrong place and wrong time. In addition, he always likes to correct others mistakes when he himself is wrong also. EG: while marching, 1308 was trying to tell the people beside to march properly (of cos he himself has an awkward way of marching), everyone knows that we are not suppose to move while in a file, yet he was like turning his head round and physically trying to correct the person beside. hmm... maybe it is difficult to visualise like that. But those who know me should know that i'm a very nice person, being able to irritate me would mean that that person must be very skilled.~! haha

Next is section 3 bed 9. Ziyang. What made him so interesting was not him but his bed itself. In the 4 bunks we have in our platoon. Only the section 3's bunk has 3 amulets pasted at the door. While inside on Ziyang's bed, there was another amulet pasted on the bed. It really stirs of the curiousity of many as many would want to know what really happened before. The exsistence of the amulets was widely known that people like Weasley (platoon 4 i think) came all the way down to witness it. I always wonder if Stand by bed is still implemented most prob he will be punished for having an additional object on his bed. But then if he remove the amulet, i suppose the bed will start shaking and the bed sheet will be crumpled as a result he will still be punished. Lucky for Ziyang, there we don't have anymore stand by bed already....

Last but not least, It will be section 4 bed 7. I wonder who is this interesting guy... haha... This guy really likes BCCT that he was actually doing a front kick and kicked the wall while sleeping. Not only that, he almost attacked his buddy who just wanted to wake him up to go toilet. That was during the second week of Bmtc is i'm not wrong. According to him, he slept walk once when he was sec 3 and according to his buddy 1407 occasionally sleep talks. It is no wonder his voice never recovers after so long...haha

hmm.. thats some of the many interesting cases which happened, most prob i'll edit and add more when i feel like it. So do come down to check for changes...

I bet those who are reading my blog will wonder why i've been posting so much over such a short period. Basically, it is due to my situation right now.... haiz~.. It has been more then 7 days since i have recovered from my lost of voice yet it still husky and sounds like yong cheng. Sickening, on top of that, i've been coughing quite serverly and need to eat those pi pa gao sweets to make me feel less miserable. Unable to talk to express myself, that is y i've been so wordy in my post. Really hope i can recover before monday's field camp. It is something i've been looking forward to, i wouldn't be able to enjoy myself if such horrible condition....

5 Weeks of Bmtc

Well, since i've just started this blog, there are 5 weeks worth of Ns content i can share abt. I know it can be quite boring for those who are not involved in this NS thingy especially to those hardworking girls who are working hard (i hope) outside to earn a living while trying our best to protect the country for a mearge allowance of 50 cents per hour. But still, i really want to share the people i know especially those from my section to all.

Firstly, it will be bed 1, Jasper Chia, he is our section i/c. He is the one who always need to run in and out of the platoon office to sent or draw our bunk key. Certainly, he being an NCC cadet gave him the advantage in many ways in ns, and in a way it helped us alot as we can easily get help from him when we are in a lost. Being such a helpful person, it is no wonder he is appointed to be our section food ic to ensure we have enough snacks to last for our never ending picnic.
Secondly its bed 2, Brian Lee. I always got a feeling that i've seen him somewhere before but couldn't really pinpoint where. Initially, i thought that Brian was a muddle headed person as it was only that second day that he locked his cabinet key inside the cabinet itself. Only gradually that i realised that brian is actually quite a careful person, especially for his appointment as the attendance i/c. I find Brian to be very street smart, he knows what to at the right time. That is probably that reason why he rarely cause trouble for our section and never fails to give good advice for all of us.
Thirdly, it will be bed 3, You Chern. Till now, i still could not understand why he gave us a wrong handphone number, we really panicked at that time when we couldn't contact him. You Chern always gives me an impression that he is very stubborn or should i say persistent. Maybe it is because he was from the Track and Field. Only a person with such persistence and strong will are able to run and run and never gets tired (hmm....). Anyway, You Chern is the only one who passed during our mock ippt we had and he was the one who really motivated us to do our best for chin up.
Next, is bed 4. Ong lian hao. Lian hao is my long lost primary school table tennis friend. We were both shock and happy during the first day that we met in our bunk. Maybe its fate that we met and there is table tennis table in our recreation room. hahaha~. Lian Hao is one of the most patient and sensitive people we have in our section. Can still rmb that there was once i was so ill that i was pushing myself in the 30:60 run, Lian hao was there (practically walking) trying to encourage me on. Really looking forward to go outside to play table tennis for a few hrs with him ...
Bed 5, Chwan Soon. He is the most unfortunate guy we have in our section. Chwan Soon was confined once just cos he left his helmet in the cabinet and most probably another one as he misfired during the live firing. As the saying goes, unfortunate things always happen to the good guys. Chwan soon is certainly a very caring person. This can be seen from the way he explained things to his bunkmates who had missed lessons and he did so volunteerily. He was so detailed in his explanation that i went bored while he was teaching me the things i missed (*heh heh)..
Next up is bed 6, Jen Wei. Also known as toilet jen cos he is one of the toilet cleaners we have in our platoon. Jen wei, is a very sporty person who plays on no matter how much we teased him with his toilet. Things gets interesting with him around. The only irritating thing about him is that he likes to bring heaty food in to eat though he himself is also having cough and sore throat. And the worst thing is that he kept on tempting me to eat all those stuff. *sickening~! Fortunately i have strong will power to resist his temptation.
BEd 7 it will be me. I bet those who are reading this blog would know who i am, so i wouldn';t need to say much things abt myself. Being in bed 7, i'm at a awkward position of sleeping right beside the window and at the corner. hmm... yah~! haha
Follow up is bed 8, Terrence wu. Terrence is my buddy who never fails to wake me up almost everynight to go toilet. Being his buddy, i've seen the best and worst side of Terrence. Logically, i can say that the negative side is due to him being the only child, as Alice Teo mentioned before it is called the "only child syndrome" comparable to me having "middle child syndrome". Certainly, Terrence nature is not too bad as he is willing to go through the trouble to buy food for us during his personal bookout. I'll be too lz to do so myself.. haha
Bed 9 is Mark Tay. Mark has been in scout for 6 yrs (similar to Seng Khng and Daniel Tay for those who know them, he's a friend of Seng Khng also). Being a scout for so long, it is no wonder he always do the essential things to prevent us from being in trouble. However, i always got this feeling that because he is in scout for that long, he tend to be too confident with himself that he is insensitive to what is around him. But all in all, Mark really contributed to the section alot and he deserve to be complimented for that.
NExt is bed 10, Tan Wei Da. Due to the similarities in our names and the closeness of our birthdays, some would have said that we are twins. Despite of that, our personalities are really different. Wei Da is a very amusing person who never fails to come out with crappy ideas.... making Xiang QI and poker cards out of flash cards, bringing in weird feathery stuff for our CNY decoration.... As i always say "all great ideas are first thought to be crappy, thats why no one think of it in the first place". I feel that there is many things that i can learn from him and he can be a great motivator when the need arises.
Bed 11 is Ser Kheng. Many people call him by his initials SK and these initials can stand for many words which are also his nicks. Ser Kheng is a very sociable person but he can be quite mean to those he feels that they are selfish. Being a very frank person, SK is able to express his likes and dislikes very evidently. That is probably why he is able to socialise quite well with others. SK and Jasper are the "divers" ( people who need to go for swimming lessons) from our section, i really envy them to be able to go swimming.... craving to go swimming now...heh heh
Lastly, it is bed 12, Julian Poh. Same as Terrence, Julian was from RJC (he knows lee jun da aka ugly da). Julian plays an important role in our platoon as the flower pot ic. Watering the plants and ensuring that they are well trimmed are part and parcel of the roles of Julian. He was from red cross, and that is probably why he is so caring towards his plants Julian never fails to entertain me with his weird actions and behaviour, really wonder if he is a midlle child too. hahaha.

kk~ tts all for the people from my section.
